Research Interests
Women in political life in eastern Europe, urban sociology, art and the state.

Current Projects
Women members of post-communist parliaments. Chair the European Politics Seminar series at the Watson Institute; Member of the editorial collective of the journal Studies in Comparative International Development; Board of Directors of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies, representing the American Sociological Association.
