Russian history, particularly the developments and structures of
medieval Russian society; Russian-Byzantine-Mongol relations.
Current Projects
Medieval Rus in the Mongol Era (a reevaluation
of the social-economic history of medieval Rus and the development
of Muscovy); A Social History of Medieval Rus
(which seeks to integrate the extensive scholarship that exists
on the society and economy of medieval Rus).
