About Us

The Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies is Harvard University’s center for interdisciplinary research and study of Russia and the countries surrounding it. We have over 200 affiliates working in disciplines ranging from anthropology to sociology, and whose regional interests span virtually all of Russia, Eastern Europe, and Central Asia.

We believe that fascinating interdisciplinary insights emerge when a diverse group of individual scholars, each of whom is well trained in a single discipline, interact on topics related to a common theme or geographic region. Our goal is to foster these scholars’ development and to stimulate interdisciplinary thinking by creating opportunities for them to meet and exchange views.

The Outreach Program of the Davis Center for Russian and Eurasian Studies serves K-12 public, private and charter schools in the greater New England area in providing resources for teaching about Russia, Eastern Europe and Central Asia.

The Davis Center is an institutional member of the American Association for the Advancement of Slavic Studies and is that organization's host at Harvard University.
